The blinding/glare, in my opinion, is so bad that I think there should be more action from authorities regarding vehicles with blinding headlights. So, I ignored all the warnings & purchased an aftermarket HID setup. I tried adding HID a couple of time previously, even on projector based headlights, and although the 1st impressions were always like "wow, much brighter" they never gave the same level of "useful" illumination (light on the road I use) as factory HID or even as halogen mods (H9 bulbs in H11 housings, 9005 in 9006 housing or HIR/9011 in 9012/9005/9006 housings), and worst of all, any non-factory HID mods caused considerable glare/blinding to others drivers, which I also suffer from others. If everyone turned a blind eye to people putting out wrong info then we all wouldn't be too bright would we? Also, I don't view the Forum I just view the active topics on the right of the screen, if somethings outside of those 10 or so posts, I wont see it cause that's as deep as I usually go unless I am on 24hr duty or something Then someone schooled me on how to properly "mod" your headlights. I tried the Opt7 LED's first but had horrible dark spots in middle of the beam patterns and the more I thought about it, the less I wanted bulbs with active fansīecause there was a time when I to used to drive around with horrible lighting, blinding the world. Running the 35w's with the headlights Properly Adjusted I have not had one person flash me their brights in the 2 months I've had them in. The 4500k color temp is about the same as OEM'mHIDs, but I'm probably going to order 5500k's. I have crappy night vision but still can't imagine why anyone would need the 55w bulbs. Illuminate sides of road great on lows and the highs are absolutely bright as I would ever want. This isn’t surprising because an HID headlight produces 3000-5000 lumens while LED produces double. Hence, it’s safer and easier to avoid potential danger. Contrastingly, HID and LED produce much brighter lights. A 35W Xenon bulb consumes less power than a 55W Halogen bulb. Xenon produces cleaner, whiter, brighter and safer light. Xenon can last 10 times longer than halogen. Xenon is 300 times brighter than halogen. Crisp, clean beam pattern with no dead spots and very straight cut off. In a high beam configuration, 1200 lumens is the highest light halogen can illuminate. A true HID bulb uses a ballast to ignite the chemical mixture inside. Find all your headlight upgrade products here: utmmediumorganic&utmcampaignDLGHRYTREVdifferen. Kit took me about an hour to install and pattern is perfect. 1st pattern is OEM halogens, and the next pic has HID on passenger side & halogen drivers side. I'll take more pic's of the beam pattern. A bit more expensive then most of the kits but very complete plug & play with of quality components, simple instructions and a 5year warranty. I highly recommend the Morimoto Elite HID kit with XB55 50W ballasts and XB35 4500k bulbs. ![]() A bit more expensive then most of the kbs with active fans
